Martha Stewart's Dreamers into Doers Event, Part 3

Hey there!

Are you ready for Part 3 of the Martha Stewart DID adventure?  I can hardly contain my excitement...this is a fun, fun post!

Cupcakes. Sprinkles. Ribbon. Buttons and crystals like you've never seen.  You are in for a serious dose of delicious eye candy!  Oooh, I can't wait!

Come with me girls.  Let me take you to some of this party girl's fave NYC destinations!

{Warning:  Some of the following photos may cause drool, shrieking or loss of sensibility.  Please proceed with caution}.

First stop:  NY Cakes and Baking Supply

Behind these doors lies a bakers' paradise.  For real.  Ready?  We're going in!  Deep breaths, girls, deep breaths...

An entire wall of Valentine's Day baking goodies greeted us.  Awesome, right?

That's just the beginning.  Take a look at these.  In every size you can imagine...

But sit down, girls.  This is the biggie.  My weakness.  My complete Heaven...

An entire WALL of SPRINKLES!!!

Every color, shape, size, blend.  Oh my sweet Lord!

Yep, that's me, completely giddy with excitement.  Notice that I had to sit down?

But I'm not the only one in paradise.  My girls were pretty happy, too!  :)

(If you didn't meet "my girls" in my previous post, click here.  You must meet them)!

Such fun!  Ready for more?  Let's hit the road...

Next Stop:  M & J Trimming

This is a biggie.  I don't think anything could've prepared us for this one.  Here we go...

This pic cracks me up!

Nikki (Nikki, in Stitches) and Kristen (3 Little Birds Boutique) stopped for a quick wave to the camera, but Aimee (Lulu Pink Parties) saw the floor to ceiling button display and could not contain herself!  Look at her...isn't that hysterical?!!  I love it!

Here's where she was headed. I don't think we saw her again until check-out!

This is where they lost me.  Seriously.  Have you ever seen so much ribbon?!!

And it was gorgeous!

My creative juices were madly flowing.  The workers were following me around with a mop.

And who doesn't love a little bling?

Crystals, anyone?

Are you having fun, yet?

Working up an appetite?  Need a snack?  Me, too.  Follow me, I know just the place!

Magnolia Bakery

Need I say more?  Yum!

What strikes your fancy?  Lemon cake?  German chocolate cake?

How about a classic vanilla or red velvet cupcake?

Having a hard time deciding?  Ok, I picked out something special just for you.

Wanna see?

Key Lime Mini Cheesecake.

I ate it for you.  It was divine!  You loved it!  ;)

Ready for more?  Let's go.

My hubby accompanied me on this NYC trip and we were lucky enough to have a couple of days to ourselves to do some sightseeing.

We hit all of the hot spots...Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero, Central Park , Rockefeller Center, The Today Show, NBC Studios, The Lion King on Broadway, and more.  Wow!

{By the way, how cute are these little cookies that they were selling at the Empire State Building}?!!

Anyway, along the way we got to indulge in two places that I just have to share with you.

Not really party related, but definite must-visits if you're ever in NYC.

Serendipity 3

I fell in love with this place!

It's teeny, teeny tiny.  In fact, we went right past it and never even saw it.

And when you walk in...even smaller!

It's super narrow with a shop in the front and some tables set up for a restaurant in the back.

It's a quaint little place and the decor is so quirky and fun!  Loved, loved, loved it!

We ordered a yummy dinner, but of course saved room for the famous Serendipity Frozen Hot Chocolate.

Oh my gosh, it was sooooo good!

They were selling Frozen Hot Chocolate souvenirs in the shop.  I wanted to buy one for each of you, but didn't know how I'd get them home on the plane.  :(

Time for one last stop...

popbar!

My friend Tammy (Milk and Cookeez) suggested that we try this place out sometime during our trip.

Ohhhhh, I am soooo glad we did!

What a cool place!

It's frozen gelato on a stick and you can customize your pop.

Yummy, right?!!  I know!

My hubby got a dark chocolate-coffee pop, which he loved...

...and I opted for Hot Chocolate on a Stick...

Mmmm, sooo good!

Well, that wraps up our adventures in NYC, folks!

I hope you enjoyed the recaps as much as I enjoyed re-living everything!

Thanks so very much for your support.  It means the world to me and it makes loving what I do even easier!

Happy Celebrating!

Martha Stewart's Dreamers into Doers Event, Part Two

Hello again!

Welcome to Part Two of the Dreamers into Doers adventure!  (If you missed Part One, click here).

Today you'll be meeting some of the fabulous women behind some of your favorite blogs and websites!  Exciting, right?!!

I thought it would be cool to introduce you to these girls not only because it's fun to see the faces behind the sites, but also for another reason.  These girls are real.

Just like you and me, real.  Wives, moms, working girls who had an idea...a dream...and pursued it.  And worked hard.  And became successful.

Something that YOU can do, too.  Truly.

So, have fun meeting these great girls, but more importantly, be inspired, knowing that you can make your dreams come true, too!

There were 80 remarkable women at this event, and while I wasn't able to get to know everyone personally, there was a select handful (hereby known as "my girls") that I got to spend some fun, quality time with.

These girls are super talented, incredibly smart and beautiful inside and out!

Ready to meet "My Girls?"  Here we go!

Left to right:  Yours truly.  Yes, that's me on the end being silly. :)

Nancy (A to Zebra Celebrations):  Nancy is a creative party girl at heart and she's so sweet!  Handmade banners, table runners and party hats are her specialty.  Stop by and pay her a visit!

Nikki (NikkiInStitches.com):  Nikki is the next Martha!  She is crazy crafty and ridiculously talented...not to mention that she's cute as a button!

Aimee (Lulu Pink Parties):  Aimee has an energy about her that is contagious.  She gets really excited about things (just like me!) so, of course I fell in love with her right away!  Aimee plans events in Louisiana and just got an adorable new blog layout.  Check it out!

Kristen (3 Little Birds Boutique):  Kristen is a self-taught jewelry designer.  Her pieces are beautiful!  She's got a smile that will light up the room and she's flat-out fun!  Look for a special Valentine's giveaway collaboration with Kristen right here on PFP beginning Feb. 1st!

Here are my girls again, with more of my girls!

Laura (Eye Candy Event Details):  Her story brought tears to my eyes!  Laura believes that it's the details that make an event special, and this girl knows how to tend to the details!  :)

Terri (CrafyWorkinMommy):  Terri is the cake ball queen...and a girl after my own heart!  I knew I liked this girlie right away!  :)

Heather (The Sewing Loft):  This girl has got some mad sewing skills and her products are precious!  In fact, her toddler “To Go” backpacks have been nominated for the Cribsie Award!

Sarah (Dreamers Joy Events) and Robin (Lucky Penny Incorporated) are just getting started, but have bright futures ahead!  Keep your eyes on them...they'll be moving up fast!

You may recognize Kim from The Celebration Shoppe.  I'm a huge fan of Kim's designs so it was really exciting to meet her in person!  (Don't judge my hair...it was a very bad hair day due to the weather)!

This is me with Jill from Modern-Cupcake.comI had a crush on her immediately. :)

This is Nikki, Carrie (from The Sweet Spot Candy Bar), Aimee and I waiting in line for The Martha Show!

A fun shot of Aimee and I in our seats waiting to catch a glimpse of Martha!

Here's another group shot taken during our cocktail party.  FUN!

Two gals in here you haven't yet seen but I'm sure you've heard of...Rebecca from Fresh Chick Design Studio (love her) and Andrea from Dolce Drive (another party girl at heart)!

And here's one last shot...me with my sweet friend, Nikki.  We clicked right away and it felt like we'd known each other forever!  <3

So there you have it.  Just a few of the amazing women that are making their dreams come true!

I hope you'll pay each of their sites a visit, and I hope you get inspired to get out there and chase your dreams!

Stay tuned for one more post from this "Dreamers" series.

In Part 3, we take NYC by storm, visiting some of my favorite places...Magnolia Bakery, NY Cakes and Decorating Supply and M & J Trimming...an enormous ribbon store!  Woohooo!!!

Can't wait to share!

Until then, Happy Celebrating!

Martha Stewart's Dreamers into Doers Event, Part One

Hi there!

As many of you know, I had the extraordinary privilege of attending the Martha Stewart "Dreamers into Doers" event in NYC at Martha's headquarters (MSLO) this past week.  Not only was it an incredibly humbling experience to be present at such a remarkable event, it was surreal to be surrounded by some of the most wonderful, talented women that I've ever met.  I think I will forever be in awe!

There was so much  that I took away from this experience that I could go on about it for days!  Instead, I'll take it easy on you and just share a few short and sweet posts...just to give you a tiny idea of what it was like.

Part One will be our agenda...a day in the life at MSLO.

Part Two...you'll meet the incredible women behind some of the favorite blogs and websites that you know and love.

And Part Three...a super fun NYC adventure!  I'll take you to The Magnolia Bakery, NY Cakes and Baking Supply, and M & J Trim...one of the largest ribbon stores I've ever seen in my life!

Ready for Part One of the experience?  Today I'll give you a peek at our itinerary.  Here we go!  :)

When we first arrived at MSLO, this is what greeted us.  Already at this point I was about to jump out of my skin with excitement!  {Deep breaths, Jen, deep breaths}!

We took the elevators to the 9th floor...which is entirely occupied by Martha's offices.  It is HUGE!  This is the first glimpse we got of the reception area.  Of course, we all had to stop and take pictures!  :)

A "Welcome Breakfast Reception" awaited us.  We were served an array of breakfast goodies (including these gorgeous parfaits that I had to take a picture of), and got to meet and mingle with our fellow entrepreneurs.  It was so exciting to finally meet a lot of the women that I'd been talking to and admiring online...they are truly amazing!  (More on these awesome gals later)!

Day One was filled with truly incredible, motivational speakers...

Gael Towey, Chief Creative & Editorial Director of MSLO

Terri Trespicio, Senior Editor of Whole Living Magazine

Terri Shapiro, Executive Director of Brand & Media Relations for Deluxe Corporation

Brenda Dargan, Producer of Social Media and Partnerships at MSLO

Danielle Mavel, Etsy

Susan L. Solomon, Co-Founder and CEO of NY Stem Cell Foundation

and of course, Martha herself!

We were also treated to a delicious lunch, a cocktail reception and mini makeovers!  FUN!

I have to add a little note here.  I just need to say, that simply being at MSLO was an experience in itself.  Although we aren't allowed to post photos, I have to tell you that this place is A.MAZ.ING!!!

We were actually in her working offices (escorted, of course, although I walked as slowly as I possibly could just to try to take it all in).

We saw (and smelled the delicious aromas of) test kitchens, floor to ceiling idea boards for magazine layouts, tables of crafting supplies with even more idea boards, a room full of beds getting prepared for photo shoots, and even a sneak peek into the to-die-for prop room!

It was truly what I imagine Heaven to be like.

Oh my gosh!  If I could've just pitched a tent and lived there forever I would've.

You can get a tiny, legal glimpse of Martha's offices here, but trust me, real life is a million times better!

Ok, coming down from the clouds again to bring you Day Two on our agenda!

We got to attend a LIVE taping of the Martha Stewart Show, where she recognized us, "The Dreamers," on national television!  Sooo exciting!

Did you see us?  If not, I'll be posting video clips soon.

That's definitely an experience we won't be forgetting!

Back at MSLO, we had another wonderful speaker, Maria Otero, Founder and President of The Women's Venture Fund.  Wow.  She left a powerful impression.  (Her photo wouldn't upload...sorry).
A fabulous food demonstration by Sarah Casey, Food Editor at Martha Stewart Living wrapped up the event.  (I LOVED the food demo)!

So, that's the "business" view of the trip.  Pretty incredible business trip, right?

Coming up, stay tuned for two more posts that you'll definitely want to see!

You'll meet some of the fabulous women behind websites/blogs that you know and love, and I'll take you on a fun NYC adventure to The Magnolia Bakery, NY Cakes and Baking Supply and M&J Trimming...the biggest ribbon store I've ever seen in my life!

Stay tuned!!!

Happy Celebrating,
Jen
